Everyone and their dog needs to have an online account nowadays, even for something as trivial as knitting tips. The worst part is having to remember the passwords to all accounts, and you can't just write them down on a piece of paper or in a document on your computer. If you really need to have them written down, you can turn to Sisma to protect your login credentials in an encrypted database. You can store, organize and protect any number of usernames and passwords, and lock everything down to prevent anyone from gaining access to your sign in details. The software also comes with a few tools that protect your passwords from spyware or even over-the-shoulder-looks.

Sisma is distributed as a freeware application, for all modern Windows systems. It comes in a small package, and it doesn't take more than a minute to install it on your computer. The software doesn't rely on any third-party tools or drivers, and you don't need to sacrifice too many resources to run it.

You can create folders and sub-folders in a tree structure, to organize database entries in different categories. New entries are created on a separate window, on which you only need to fill in a series of input fields. If you need a strong password for an account, you can make use of the software's built-in password generator, which provides you with long and complex strings instantly. Additionally, Sisma lets you set expiration dates for your passwords.

When you select an account entry in the tree structure, the application will show its details on the right side of its user interface, except for the password, which is hidden by default, but you can reveal it if you need to. However, a better way to retrieve your password is to turn to Sisma's account functions to copy the username or password to the clipboard. This way you don't have to worry about people looking over your shoulder or hidden applications on your computer that may log everything you type.

You can save your entire database as a single encrypted file, which can only be opened in Sisma, with a password. You may have long and complex passwords for all your accounts and remember only one master password for your database. The software can open your database instantly, whenever you need a password to log into an account, and, once you're done, you can lock down the database with a single click.

Sisma spares you from committing anything but one master password to memory, even if you have hundreds of accounts.

Pros

You can store usernames, passwords and other sensitive details in a secure database. Creating database entries is quite easy. The software comes with a password generator, to help you create long and complex strings.

Cons

There are no serious issues to point out.
